Competition Team
2010 year in review
It was another stellar year for the 2010 Bushi Dojo competition team. The Michigan Sports Karate Association, amongst others, has honored our Dojo by recognizing all of our Bushido competitors as being some of the top karate athletes in the state of Michigan for 2010 (something our Dojo is very proud of).
The dedication the team showed all year long was outstanding and I would like to acknowledge their accomplishments. All these placements are recognized as State Champion Standing:
Rielly Durso placed 2nd in Kata and 3rd in sparring. She was also named the Bushi Dojo’s most improved competitor for 2010.
Karrington Goudon received a 2nd place in Kata competition as well. She is one of our brightest stars and we’re proud to have her on the team again this coming year.
Allisa Ledford, despite a broken arm, pulled off a great year. She placed 4th in kata in the State of Michigan for the MSKA. If not for the few months she spent recovering from a broken appendage, we have no doubt she would have swept her division with little problem.
Mark and Karen Schoof, our mother and son team, cleaned house in 2010. Both had an outstanding year in Kumite with 1st place honors for both competitors as well as a 5th place for Mark and a 4th place for Karen in Kata.
Jason Bellhorn, our special needs competitor, took the show with incredible poise and respect for everyone he competed against in 2010. We received many compliments on this four time state champion and we are proud to have him in our Dojo and on our team.
Last year was great! Our team did fantastic as I know they will in the upcoming year. The Bushi Dojo is truly blessed with great Karate-ka, having students with the dedication that these people I just named showed makes our job easy, it also makes it look like we know what we’re doing around the school. So thank you competitors for a stellar year and making us look good.
Thank you,
Master Adam K. Perry and the Bushi Dojo
